CHALLENGE:

This pergola installation in North Boulder presented unique challenges due to the elevation of the deck and pool. The freestanding pergola system had to be secure in this high-wind area, which required the back posts to be installed outside of the deck area and extend to the ground below.

This pergola design ensured the stability and security of the pergola, accommodating the unique architectural and environmental challenges of the site. With larger, longer, durable posts, the outdoor louvered roof system would hold up to the StruXure Denver name with years of enjoyment and protection.

SOLUTION

StruXure Denver installed the Pivot 6, designed in an elegant gray to match the existing deck perfectly. This state-of-the-art pergola features pivoting louvers that offer precise control of sunlight and airflow, with on-demand rain protection, ensuring comfort throughout various seasonal weather changes. The superior, fully extruded aluminum design provides a beautiful outdoor covered space with no maintenance. Stainless steel fasteners add to the long-lasting durability of the Pivot 6, which withstands heavy snow loads, hurricane-force winds, and punishing hail.

This Boulder pergola installation included three distinct zones to cover the entire end of the deck with seating around the fireplace, off the end of the pool. To handle the higher snow load typical of the area, larger posts were installed for added stability and strength. The back posts extended down to the ground outside the elevated deck, while the front posts were anchored securely on the deck itself.

The focal point of the covered space was the fireplace at one end, enhancing the cozy atmosphere. Additional options included a screen installed on the outside edge to block the wind, ensuring a comfortable and sheltered environment. The fully closeable louvers provide leak-free rain protection, with patented pass-through gutter technology facilitating superior drainage through an integrated 360-degree gutter system. This comprehensive solution transformed the deck into a versatile and comfortable outdoor living and entertainment space.
