This homeowner was a designer and wanted to create a custom outdoor space that matched the home’s stylish design with an open, unobstructed view. CHALLENGE:
This pergola installation required a custom design as the homeowner desired a wide open view from the middle instead of having a post in between each zone. Rather than install a two-zone, three-post pergola, the homeowner wanted to keep the center of the pergola open for an unobstructed view.
The west-facing side of the pergola was exposed to intense afternoon sun, requiring a shaded screen to enjoy the space fully.
SOLUTION
StruXure Denver installed a two-zone Pivot 6 pergola directly tied into the house, ensuring a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The Pivot 6 pergola system allows for a customizable design with an advanced louvered roof system, allowing the homeowner to adjust sunlight and airflow.
In order to accommodate the homeowner’s request for a more open center while still including the required support pillars, we extended the center posts five feet outward. This allowed us to use four posts along the sides instead of three, thereby providing a larger open area in the center for a beautiful aesthetic and an unobstructed center view.
The Pivot 6’s motorized louvers allow the homeowner to control sunlight and airflow, offering full exposure, partial shade, or complete protection from the elements with the touch of a button. The integrated motorized screens on the west-facing side provide additional protection against the intense afternoon sun, making the space more comfortable and usable while maintaining privacy.
Constructed with fully extruded aluminum, the Pivot 6 pergola is designed to withstand high winds, heavy snow loads, and hail, ensuring long-term durability with minimal maintenance.
