RESIDENTIAL PERGOLA
Englewood 80210
OVERVIEW:
Englewood is located directly south of Denver in Arapahoe County, Colorado, a home-rule municipality in the South Platte River Valley. Residents enjoy an abundance of things to do with a diverse culture of arts, music, and nature. Outdoor hiking paths and beautiful views abound, and residents wishing to enjoy more nature in their own backyard count on StruXure Denver for durable yet stunning pergolas.
StruXure Denver installed a 3-zone, 24’ x 15’ Pivot 6 for this homeowner in Englewood to extend the outdoor patio on an older home that was built in 1910.

CHALLENGE:
Attaching a pergola to an old brick home built in the early 1900s is always a challenge, depending on the building methods of the era. While the home had been updated and modernized, the original brick wall was not constructed with today’s building practices in mind. This particular double brick wall was quite unique as the method of the time was to fill the cavity in between the two brick walls with debris, which made it impossible to epoxy into the wall. With the ability to make custom 10” bolts, we drilled all the way through the wall with a threaded 1/2“ steel rod and decorative star washers to attach the structure to the inside of the wall to gain structural support.
SOLUTION
Pivot 6 Aluminum Pergola
Rather than install the 24’ pergola in two zones, we met the needs of the homeowner to construct this beautiful gray and white pergola in three equal 8’ zones. This provided more available beams to hang two fans and lights and allowed the homeowner to customize their new outdoor space and arrange furniture to utilize the space their way. Extra posts were added for increased support to carry the load due to the use of different wall anchors.
The patio was extended, which allowed us to put footings in place when the new section of the concrete patio was poured. The adjustable louvers are standard with all Pivot 6 pergolas installations, and an easy-to-use remote provided this homeowner with on-demand control. A pivoting louvered rooftop allows for precise adjustment of sunlight in the new outdoor space, or it can be closed completely to protect against rain and snow. The sturdy material is impervious to most hail, and the patented, integrated gutter system diverts rainwater away from the patio.
StruXure Denver’s Pivot 6 is designed to meet the seasonal weather changes in the Denver area with durable, powder-coated aluminum that will not rust or rot and protects your pergola against environmental degradation. Our pergolas are built to last a lifetime with fully extruded aluminum and stainless steel to withstand hurricane-force winds, hail, and heavy snow loads. This homeowner is now enjoying low maintenance with no painting or lubrication needed. Just a seasonal spray and wash is all that is needed to enjoy this forever pergola.
RESULTS:
This pergola installation in Englewood was completed in three days. The homeowner now enjoys an even larger patio than before, with a durable and beautiful louvered rooftop. The west-facing patio experiences intense sun until the sun sets behind the mountains, and decorative panels are an option for a later upgrade
BENEFITS:
This homeowner in Englewood continues to add value to their home with a StruXure Denver pergola, adding beauty and comfort to their extended outdoor living space. Modernizing a 1910 house is no small feat, and this unique home fits right in the eclectic neighborhoods near Denver.
