The story behind our louvered patio covers began with the idea of designing a better pergola. StruXure founder Scott Selzer was a teacher with a summer home improvement business. Inspired by a homeowner’s request for a pergola that could provide shade but allow sunlight into his adjacent home when desired, he shopped around but never found the sturdy, durable metal structure with pivoting louvers he had in mind. So he decided to bring his improved pergola vision to life.
